Pumpkin Spice Smoothie – Three Variations!
Delicious pumpkin spice smoothie borders on a milkshake made with tasty pumpkin latte almond milk, but this smoothie is healthy! Here I show you how to make a pumpkin smoothie three different ways!
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
As promised, I have another delicious beverage for you to make with the remaining Pumpkin Latte almond milk that I use in my coffee.
If you haven’t made it yet, go make a batch! Quick!!
I call this drink a smoothie, but it tastes like a delicious milkshake, and although it looks sinful, it’s super healthy and low in calories.
We only used 1/4 cup of fresh pumpkin chunks or pumpkin puree for the base of the pumpkin spice milk, so you will have plenty of fresh pumpkin to use up.
Once I make homemade pumpkin puree if I don’t use it right away, I like to portion it into quarter cup amounts, and then put them in the freezer for future recipes like this one!
The pre-measured pumpkin makes this smoothie super easy to make during busy mornings.
I throw everything in my blender right before I leave for my morning commute to work, and sip it on the road!
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Recipe
You will love the warm spices of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves in this smoothie recipe. Fall in a cup all right here!
Not only is this smoothie easy to make, it can also be adjusted to your personal dietary preference.
Prefer to stay away from dairy? I got you covered. Want extra protein in your smoothie? I have an option for you too!
Three recipe options:
- Vegan
- Yogurt based
- Protein powder based
Each option blends up nice and creamy, so pick your favorite flavor profile or mix it up according to what ingredients you have on hand.
Vegan Pumpkin Spice Smoothie Ingredients:
- Pumpkin almond milk from my Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe – the key to adding delicious pumpkin spice flavor.
- Pumpkin puree, frozen – Additional natural pumpkin flavor as well as bulk.
- Banana – sweeteners the smoothie as well as adding bulk naturally.
- Coconut whipped cream (optional) turns this into a delicious treat!
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie With Yogurt Ingredients:
- Pumpkin milk from my Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe. This gives the smoothie the flavor.
- Greek yogurt, plain or vanilla flavor – adds natural protein. Greek yogurt adds an additional 18 grams of protein (depending on brand – I use Fage). It has a little zing to the flavor. Although any brand will work (plain or vanilla are best). Of course the amount of protein will vary depending on the brand you choose
- Pumpkin puree – naturally delicious pumpkin adding flavor and fiber.
- Banana – adds creamy consistency and is a natural sweetener.
- Whipped cream (optional) – turn this healthy smoothie into a dessert!
Pumpkin Protein Shake With Protein Powder
- Pumpkin milk from my Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe is the base of this smoothie. Adjust the liquid options to your preference.
- Protein powder (vanilla or unflavored) – Use up to a full serving of your favorite brand of protein powder. Protein grams will range from 10 grams up to 30 depending on the brand you use.
- Pumpkin puree, frozen – enhances the pumpkin flavor naturally. You can use fresh pumpkin (not pumpkin pie) and it will still be creamy when paired with frozen banana.
- Banana – I keep frozen bananas in my freezer at all times. Use up to a full banana which will sweeten the smoothie as well as add bulk.
- Whipped Cream (optional) – delicious way to turn this smoothie from a simple beverage to a decadent treat!
Recipes makes one generous serving, two depending on the size of the cup you use. Share if you are feeling generous.
Give it a try and let me know which version is your favorite!
