Sandra’s Pro Tips

Here are a few of my favorite tips to make sure that this easy recipe turns out perfectly every time that you make it.

  • The edge of a small juice jar can be used instead of a cookie cutter.
  • Optional to spread butter on the bread or to lightly spray the bread with olive oil or avocado oil.
  • The cut out middle of the bread can be used to dip in the runny yolk.
  • You can also keep the bottom the the cut out intact by pressing gently on the bread forming an indentation on the bread, then with your fingers push the bread down without breaking it apart.
  • If you are making more than one piece at a time make sure that you do not over crowd the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your bread and your air fryer you may be able to make 2 or 3 pieces at a time. Pictured is a small Dash brand air fryer. I make mine one at a time.
  • Instead of worrying about cutting the foil or parchment paper, you can pick up the parchment paper rounds online that are meant to be used in the air fryer basket.
  • You can adjust the cooking time to suit your preferred level of doneness. My family likes a runny yolk so this timing is perfect for us.
