  • leftover oven-cooked brisket, diced
  • corn tortillas is my favorite, but you can also use flour tortillas.
  • chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
  • cooking oil
  • onion, diced
  • beef broth
  • soy sauce, low sodium
  • cornstarch
  • Toppings – avocado slices, sliced cabbage, crema, diced cilantro, pico de gallo, avocado cream sauce

HOW TO MAKE THESE LEFTOVER BRISKET TACOS

Making these brisket tacos is very simple. Just follow the instructions below and you will a hearty and comforting meal in no time at all.

STEP 1: DICE LEFTOVER BRISKET INTO SMALL PIECES

Dice leftover brisket into small bite-sized pieces.

STEP 2: DRAIN THE CHIPOTLES RESERVING SOME OF THE ADOBO SAUCE

Drain chipotles in a small sieve reserving 1/4 cup of adobo sauce. Reserve the chiles for another use like Chipotle Chicken Skewers or this Chipotle Slow Cooked Meatballs Recipe.

STEP 3: SAUTE THE ONIONS IN OIL UNTIL TRANSLUCENT

Heat a large skillet with cooking oil over medium-high heat. Add onions and saute until fragrant and translucent.

STEP 4: ADD MEAT, ADOBO SAUCE, AND BROTH

Add diced meat, adobo sauce, and beef broth, and bring ingredients to boil.

Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes. 

STEP 6: MAKE A CORNSTARCH SLURRY TO THICKEN THE SAUCE

In a separate small bowl whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch. Add to pan. Cook until sauce thickens.

Warm tortillas on a skillet and assemble tacos with brisket and the topping of your choice.
