Peach Lemonade

I had no idea that this amazing combination of peach and lemon even existed.

Not until a picture of it jumped out at me while flipping through a cookbook, Cooking Light’s New Way to Cook Light, 2012.

Fresh sweet peaches and tangy lemons make a refreshing summer lemonade. A new delicious way to quench your thirst, that’s for sure!

Even with a ton of online food sites like Foodgawker and the beautiful sites of talented food bloggers, the old-fashioned way of flipping though cookbooks is still one of my favorite things to do.

I call it ‘mindless’ reading. No thoughts, just taking it all in! Quite enjoyable, just like sitting with my feet up with freshly made lemonade!

How To Make Peach Lemonade From Scratch

Ready to make this thirst-quenching beverage? Let’s get to it! For this drink, we use fresh ingredients; lemon juice, peaches, and a sweetener of your choice. I used monk fruit. Simple and delicious!

You Will Need The Following Ingredients:

  • 7-8 lemons, juiced
  • 2-3 peaches, diced and peeled. I prefer yellow peaches for lemonade.
  • sweetener of your choice – I make mine with monk fruit or erythritol or stevia.
  • Water

You Will Need The Following Supplies:

  • Juicer: hand squeeze, lemon juicer or electric juicer will all work fine to get your fresh lemon juice.
  • Measuring cups
  • Saucepan
  • Pitcher
  • Knife and cutting board

When you see the words peach lemonade, it sounds interesting, but it’s the pretty orange-yellow color of the drink that makes you want to grab a glass right out of the magazine or in this case website!

Steps To Make Peach Lemonade:

Making your own lemonade is simple.

You will find that the hardest part of this recipe will be waiting for the peach syrup to cool before processing and chilling the syrup before adding the lemon juice.

Don’t fret, it’s worth the wait. This I promise you!

First add the prepared diced peaches to the water with your preferred sweetener. Bring to a boil, and then simmer.

Now you need to let the peach syrup cool before adding it to a blender. Pulse until smooth.

Place in the refrigerator for several hours until it it nice and cold.

At this point you want to pour the peach syrup over a pitcher with a sieve catching the thick puree.

Now it’s time to add the fresh lemon juice to the pitcher as well.

If serving several people add ice and serve to finish the whole pitcher of lemonade.

On the other hand, if you are serving one or two people, add ice to glasses, then garnish with extra fruit and mint sprigs.

Can You Use Frozen Peaches?

Yes! Enjoy this lemonade all year long. If fresh peaches are not available frozen peaches will work fine.

Defrost the peaches in the refrigerator overnight and proceed with the recipe as written.

On the other hand, you can simmer frozen peaches just as you would the fresh peaches, except it will take longer to soften while simmering.

Note: make sure the frozen peaches are preserved without sugar otherwise you will need to adjust the sweetener in the recipe.

Can I Use Lemon Concentrate?

Technically you can use lemon concentrate for this lemonade recipe, but be aware that you may not be using the freshest ingredients.

Some lemon concentrates include preservatives, flavoring (lemon oil), and sugar.

Look closely at the ingredient list before choosing a lemon concentrate. Most times I find it’s just as easy to squeeze my own fresh lemons.

How To Serve Peach Lemonade Into A Cocktail

Adding peaches is a nice twist to classic lemonade.

If you want to turn this lemonade into an adult beverage, add a splash (or two) of light rum or vodka to each glass!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups of water
  • 2 cups peaches peeled and diced
  • 3/4 cup sugar sugar alternative for sugar-free
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice about 5 medium-large lemons
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Combine water, peaches and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce and simmer for three minutes.
  • Cool mix for 20 minutes.
  • Place mixture in a blender. If still warm allow for the spout to open to let the heat escape. If your blender doesn’t have that option, remove lid and place a towel over the top (or cover the open spout) to catch any splatter.
  • Pulse until smooth and put in the refrigerator for at least three hours.
  • Strain mixture through a sieve over a pitcher or bowl, reserving the liquid. Stir in lemon juice.
  • Pour lemonade in a glass filled with ice.

Notes

The recipe recommend discarding the solids from the peaches after straining. I saved mine and used it in my smoothie! Double your beverage use!

  1. I have to tell you, I am a self professed cookbook whore. I have a room full of cookbooks and, like you, for me, it’s all about those photos that draw you in! This drink recipe sound delicious. I have a bit of mango puree leftover in the fridge, which I think I could replace the peaches with for a yummy drink inspired by this one! Of course, the peaches have been amazing this year so far, so maybe I just need to do both!

  2. Not only do I love this recipe, but I’m IN LOVE with what you did to those jars!! Please, share your secret….what type of paint did you use on the outside? I love the color of the paint and the fact that they are raised dots….much easier to keep hold of those slippery jars!

    1. I’m so glad you like them! I used Glass paint (Gloss Opaque) by Martha Stewart. I just followed the directions on prepping the glass and then started dotting away! ~Sandra

  3. No, I’ve never had peach lemonade but it certainly looks delicious and refreshing. It’s not peach season here at the moment but I sure wish it was – I love peaches xx

  4. How refreshing and delicate flavors. I saw some nectarines in the market the other day and waiting for the peaches to arrive to Hong Kong. I also looking through real cook books and thumbing through the pages and pictures. There is nothing more satisfying on a rainy day.
