Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri Recipe
As cool mornings turn into hot afternoons, it’s time to start thinking about ice-cold drinks to chase the heat away. This virgin strawberry daiquiri has all the flavor and delight of a daiquiri without the alcohol.
Whether you are enjoying a refreshing drink poolside or hiding in the air conditioning (that’s where I’ll be!), you don’t have to make do with boring summer drinks just because you want something alcohol-free.

Ingredients for the Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
You don’t need a daiquiri mix to make an amazing virgin version of this popular drink. Here’s what you do need. One can of frozen limeade. Two pounds of fresh strawberries. A little rum extract. Ice to fill the blender. That’s it!
If you want to make sure your drink is 100% alcohol-free, be aware that most rum extracts have a little bit of alcohol content, just like any other extract.
Not nearly as much as real rum obviously, but sometimes a strictly alcohol-free drink is preferred. In that case, you should be sure to get an alcohol-free rum extract, which does exist.
It will be hard to make a homemade virgin strawberry daiquiri (also called a Nada Daiquiri) without a blender. That’s the only tool you really must-have.
How to Make a Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri
Once you have all the ingredients on hand, all you need is a good blender and your garnish of choice. Throw everything in the blender, mix until smooth, and serve in clear glasses because this drink is bright pinkish-red and beautiful!
If the drink is too thick, you can add a little water or half-n-half to adjust the density. Just add a little at a time until you get it where you want it.
Garnish for a Strawberry Daiquiri
Dress up your virgin strawberry daiquiri by dressing up the glass. Garnish the rim with sugar for an elegant and traditional touch. If that’s your plan, make sure you do that *before* you pour the drink in.
You may also add a slice of strawberry, a slice of lime, or one of each for a little flair.
For the sweet tooth, you can top the drink with a squirt of whipped cream and a cherry, just like they do in Vegas.
Tips and Tricks for Blending Your Own
Sometimes you need a little liquid to go in the blender first, before adding the fruit and frozen content. If your blender can’t quite get things started, add a little water or half-n-half to jumpstart the process.
Fresh strawberries will have more juice and more flavor, but frozen strawberries can work in this drink recipe if you can’t get fresh. You might add a dash of high-quality strawberry syrup or homemade strawberry puree to improve the flavor if you start with frozen.
To sugar the rim of your glass, place sugar in a bowl bigger around than the rim of your glass first. Then dip the rim in lime juice first to give the sugar something to latch onto. Then dip the rim directly into the sugar and lift straight out. Try not to twist or tip the glass as you lift it out.
Don’t over blend this drink. The longer you keep a frozen drink going in the blender, the runnier it gets. A vrigin strawberry daiquiri is intended to be served nearly frozen and thick, almost (but not quite) the consistency of a smoothie.
If your blender came with instructions about adding ice or frozen ingredients in a specific order, be sure to follow the blender’s preferred order over the recipe. The key is to get all the ingredients blended smooth and the order you add ingredients doesn’t matter so much.
Strawberry Daiquiri with Rum
If you want an alcoholic version of a strawberry daiquiri, you can add rum to your taste instead of water or half-n-half. This recipe forms an excellent base without a mix.
Make it a Miami Vice
If you want to make the traditional Pina colada/ Strawberry Daiquiri mix known as a Miami Vice, you can make a virgin Pina colada as well.
Pouring the two different drinks into the glass at the same time on opposite sides will provide a striking presentation, which somehow always makes things taste better.
Make It a Popsicle!
Since this recipe is alcohol-free, it’s perfect for kids! You don’t even have to call it a daiquiri if you don’t want to make that association. It’s a really pretty treat after a hot day in the pool.
Did you know you can actually turn your virgin strawberry daiquiris into popsicles? The intense strawberry flavor with the slightly sour touch of lime is a perfect popsicle treat.
If you are planning to make popsicles, add about a third less ice, and once you’ve poured it into the popsicle molds, add a few fresh slices of strawberry for effect.
To make popsicles you’ll need a popsicle mold set and perhaps some fun popsicle sticks.
