Sugar Free Caramel Latte
Sugar free caramel latte with fresh whipped cream. This delicious coffee drink is easy to make at home with just a few simple ingredients; espresso, milk, sugar free caramel all topped with whipped cream for an extra special coffee drink.
Caramel Latte
You don’t need to drive to a coffee shop to enjoy a delicious latte, make a warm cup of coffee with all the extras right at home with just a couple of kitchen tools.
The caramel latte I’m sharing today is simple to make and the best part is that you can adjust the flavor profile to your preference.
Like a sweet coffee? Add more sweetener? Prefer sugar-free beverages? For this recipe I use a sugar free caramel.
In addition, you can also use your favorite milk; skim, whole, almond, coconut are some of my favorite varieties.
What is a latte?
Latte or also referred to as cafe latte is a “milk coffee.”
The classic beverage is made with just two ingredients; steamed milk and espresso.
Although there are a variety of flavors to try like this Pumpkin Spice Latte or a Mocha Latte for those chocolate lovers!
I don’t have an espresso maker! Can I make espresso without a machine?
Yes, you don’t need an espresso maker to make a caramel latte at home. You will need to make strong coffee.
How do you make strong coffee? You will need to adjust the coffee to water ratio. For espresso, the common ratio used in most coffee shops is 1:2.
This ratio is one part coffee grounds (or espresso grounds) to two parts water.
You can accomplish this by adjusting your standard coffee machine or my favorite way to make strong coffee is to use a French press like I did in this Dulce de Leche Coffee Frappe.
How to make a skinny latte
Skinny lattes are often made with steamed non-fat or skim milk instead of full-fat milk.
Another way to make this a skinny version is to make sure you use sugar free caramel and sugar free confectioner’s sugar in the whipped cream.
In addition, the golden crystals on top are also sugar free.
For the confectioner’s and golden sugars I use use monk fruit from Lakanto (affiliate).

You can also purchase sugar free caramel sauce: Torani has a sauce and syrup.
I also use Starbuck’s sugar free cinnamon dulce syrup. Some coffee shops will sell you a bottle. Alternatively, you can find it on Amazon.
How to make caramel latte
This is a 5 minute recipe! Super simple and what a delicious treat!
First, make your strong coffee or espresso. You will need 1/2 cup. Alternatively, you can halve the recipe for just a couple of cups.
Add milk, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and coffee to a small saucepan. Whisk all ingredients together and bring to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat and set aside.
Whipping Cream Add latte to mug, then top with whipped cream.
Next, you want to whip the cream into soft peaks. Chill a deep set bowl in the freezer along with the whisk.
This step helps keep the whipping cream nice and cold and whips up super quick.
Add whipping cream to the cold bowl with confectioner’s sugar, salt and vanilla extract.
Finally, add latte mix to mugs, top with fresh whipped cream, and add golden sugar on top with additional caramel if desired!
