Ingredients to make popcorn drizzled with chocolate.

Here are the ingredients you will need to make this recipe. You may already have many of these items in your house, or if not, they are small and easy to find at your local grocery store.

  • popped popcorn sprinkled with a little salt.
  • white chocolate chips – you can also use chopped bars.
  • chocolate chips – Note that candy melts can also be used in place of chocolate or white chips.

Line a baking sheet with a rim with parchment or wax paper. Place popped popcorn over the parchment paper in a single layer.

Place chocolate chips in small microwavable bowls. Melt chocolate chip flavors separately. Heat on melt mode (if the microwave has that option) or on medium for 30 seconds. Stir when the chocolate begins to melt. Repeat in 15-second intervals until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

Drizzle over popcorn. Let sit until chocolate cools and hardens. Then serve and enjoy!

Chocolate – use your favorite; milk, semi-sweet or dark chocolate to make this recipe. I like dark or semi-sweet. Also consider some of the flavored chips like mint or peanut butter chips. No chips? Break up chocolate bars as an alternative to the chocolate chips.

Nuts – Sprinkle in your favorite nuts before you drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn for chocolate-covered nut popcorn clusters.

Toppings – Add some extra treats like M&M candies, crushed peppermint candy canes, mini marshmallows or chopped pretzels.

Make sure to drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn as quickly as possible before it cools and hardens into a chunk instead of a drizzle.

If you don’t have white or milk chocolate chips, go ahead and use dark. However, if you do have all three kinds, then you can create this recipe with three different flavors of popcorn!

Stove Top Popcorn – If you are popping your popcorn on the stovetop, drip a teaspoon of oil into a pot on medium-high. Add one popcorn kernel and wait for it to pop. Immediately add 1/2 cup kernels. Cover with lid and shake over heat until all kernels have popped. Be sure to keep the lid slightly ajar to prevent condensation on your popcorn.

Air Fryer Popcorn – Did you know that you can pop popcorn in the air fryer? You can! If you want to give air fryer popcorn a try for this recipe find the directions here.

Secure bag or cover with the lid and shake vigorously until the popcorn is coated with the melted chocolate.

  • 6-8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

  • Pop popcorn using your favorite method.
  • Line parchment paper or wax paper on a baking tray with a rim.
  • In a single layer, add prepared popcorn on top of the parchment paper and set aside.
  • Place chocolate chips in a small microwavable bowl. One at a time melt chocolate chips on melt setting or on medium heat for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat timer setting every 15 seconds until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
  • With a spoon drizzle chocolate over popcorn in a zig-zag pattern over the top of the popcorn. Repeat with white chips.
  • Let sit until the chocolate hardens. Alternatively, place tray in the refrigerator for several minutes to speed up the hardening process.

Lightly salt the popcorn after popping before adding the chocolate. Alternately, you can add sea salt after the melted chocolate has been added. The salt will stick to the surface of the chocolate drizzled popcorn.
