Coffee Concentrate For Iced Coffee

Homemade coffee concentrate for iced coffee is a simple process to brew. Once you make your own concentrate you will be less tempted to purchase those cold coffee drinks from a coffee shop!

Coffee Concentrate

Ahhhh, delicious iced coffee right at your finger tips. Do you add soy, coconut milk or delicious sweetened condensed milk to your iced coffee?

Not if you buy it from a coffee shop like Starbucks!

With this DIY recipe you can add any combination you want to your cold coffee brew!

But wait, there are some other perks as well! There is no line to wait in, the barista won’t butcher your name, even after repeating it and spelling it for them (check out these misspelled names).

And you’re not going to spend money for a cup of ice with a splash of coffee!

I suggest you freeze some of the coffee concentrate in ice cube trays, so if you want your drink to be a little chillier, the cubes will freshen up your iced coffee not water it down!

Ok, let’s get down to business and save you some bucks!

Pour filtered water over ground coffee.

Give it a stir so that all the coffee grounds are moist.

After 24 hours, strain the coffee into a clean container.

How simple is that??! VERY!

Coffee Concentrate for Iced Coffee

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound medium roast coffee beans ground fine
  • 4 quarts filtered water at room temperature I used tap water filtered in my PUR container

Instructions

  • Place grounds in a clean 6 quart container. Pour water over the grounds.
  • Stir ensuring all the grounds are moist.
  • Cover container and let sit for 24 hours.
  • Using a small sieved strainer and cheese cloth or coffee filter, strain coffee into a clean container. Refrigerate concentrate until ready to make iced coffee. Pour concentrate in ice cube trays.
  • To make iced coffee, fill glass half full with concentrate. Add Milk and sweetener of your choice. Enjoy. Repeat.

    You know I am a COFFEE ADDICT.
    I have an “iced” setting on my coffee maker, but basically it’s just a strong brew and the heater doesn’t come on, which IS NOT great for making it sweet! This is super 🙂
