Slow Cooker Winter Sangria!

This cocktail will make a great addition to your holiday gatherings!  Winter Sangria is belly warming, comforting and just the right mix for cool evenings.

Winter Sangria is fruity just like the cold summertime beverage you may be used to, except instead of adding ice cubes to each glass this slow cooked mulled wine version is served warm.

It’s so fun to create signature drinks, especially during the holidays.  The get together seems a little more festive when you take time to coordinate food and beverages with the season.

This bright and festive Cranberry Cosmopolitan Cocktail is one of my favorite cocktails to serve at Christmas time, and these Apple Cider Margaritas are scrumptious anytime during the Fall.

This simple cocktail makes entertaining effortless!

The best part about this slow cooker sangria is that it takes two simple steps to make, and it can be made in advance!  All you need to do is pour all the ingredients in the crockpot, and then turn the slow cooker on low heat!  In just a couple of hours you’ll have a fruity mulled wine!

Put cups near the crockpot and encourage your guests to help themselves!  Setting up a simple beverage station takes the worry out of mixing drinks during the festivities, and frees up your time to mingle with your guests!

Enjoy a glass of Winter Sangria this holiday season!

Ingredients

  • 2 bottles red wine I used Malbec
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice 100% juice
  • 1/2 cup brandy
  • 1/4 cup triple sec
  • 1/4 cup sweetener of your choice I used Swerve
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 pear diced
  • 1 apple cored and diced
  • 1 orange thinly sliced

Instructions

  • Pour wine, pomegranate juice, brandy , triple sec and sugar in a slow cooker. Stir and mix all ingredients. Add cinnamon sticks, diced fruit (except for oranges) and turn on low for 2 hours. Add sliced oranges and enjoy!

Notes

Add orange slices right before serving. The white pitch leaves a bitter taste if added with the apple and pear.
