Italian Soda Recipe

Quench your thirst with a homemade Italian soda! Ahhhh, sooo refreshing, TASTY, and a great way to use the raspberry syrup that I shared last week! Not only is this a fun way to drink more water, but you can also adjust the sweetness to your preference!

I LOVE having that flexibility!

I’ve found that I just can’t drink overly sweet beverages of any type! Even sugary cocktails cause me to make not so pretty faces!

First, you might be asking yourself what the heck is Italian soda! It’s a sweet drink made with carbonated water and a fruit flavored syrup. You will often find pre-made syrups like the Torani brand in stores, but today we’re using a homemade syrup.

Why you will love this recipe

Not only is homemade Italian soda refreshing and flavorful, but making your own soda is super easy too. Also, the price is more economical than buying it at a soda shop or buying ready made syrup.

To purchase an authentic Italian drink you’ll spend at least 4 bucks, which might be ok if it’s just for yourself, but it can really add up if you purchase drinks for the whole family!

I bought a liter of club soda for 89 cents! The syrup was about $5 to make and it goes a long way!

Plus, you can adjust the sweetness of the syrup to your preference. Want to keep it sugar-free? No problem! Use your favorite sugar free sweetener when making the syrup.

Italian Cremosa

In addition to the traditional style soda, you also NEED to try a cremosa! This decadent variation includes cream to the traditional soda. It may sound a little strange, but trust me when I tell you that it tastes amazing!

Treat yourself and use full-fat cream unless you are intolerant to milk products of course! You’ll enjoy the richness when taking a sip!

Feeling extra decadent? Add fresh whipped cream to your soda. Now we’re talking like this is a scrumptious dessert!

  1. I have some delicious syrups on hand and will pick up some club soda. I laugh because I made that same face as you. I’m not into overly sweet drinks. I’m looking forward to trying this!

  2. How gorgeous are these!?!? I have never made Italian soda at home, and your instructions were so easy to follow!! My family LOVED them!

  3. I used to work at a restaurant that made these Italian sodas. I really liked them, and yes, the cream versions are a little odd, but so yummy. Of course, the restaurant made them with sprite – so much sugar and sweetness. I like that you make them with club soda.

  4. I love the really pretty bottles you’ve used, where did you find them please? Really going to try your lovely raspberry syrup! Thank you
